- Repair the base — excavate soft spots; install geotextile (as needed) over clay; add and compact crushed rock (not pea gravel) in 2” lifts.
- Reset grade — screed concrete sand (ASTM C33) to proper fall (⅛–¼” per foot away from structures).
- Relay pavers — tight joints, staggered seams; match existing pattern; address borders.
- Edge restraint — spike new edging or pour concrete toe where appropriate so borders stop migrating.
- Compact & set — plate-compact with a pad; top up joints.
- Polymeric re-sand — broom in, vibrate, blower clean, then light, even misting to activate.
- Drainage options — add a channel drain, catch basin, or French drain tie-in if the site needs it.
- Clean & de-moss — low-pressure rinse; safe moss/algae treatment; efflorescence cleaning only when warranted.
